Job Description
Responsibilities: Analyze, develop, and market missile Automatic Target Recognition (ATR) algorithms for target detection, classification, and identification using varied sensor types. This includes analyzing targets and environmental scenarios to determine sensor performance requirements, helping define models to support the analysis, working with other algorithm developers to optimize sensor/processing design with respect to target identification performance and system constraints, and delivering simulations and design documents to enable implementation of desired approaches. It also includes presentation and demonstration of ATR capability to customer and management communities.

The ideal candidate will possess
Required Skills:
Demonstrated accomplishments and career growth in areas related to developing and applying algorithms for target identification/classification. Demonstrated ability in one or more of the following areas: optical phenomenology, modeling, statistical image processing, neural networking, wide breadth of target recognition algorithms. RF and/or EO sensor technologies. Working knowledge of one or more of the following (to support analysis and simulation): Matlab, C/C++ programming, MathCad. Demonstrated ability to simultaneously lead (including managing budget and schedule) and make technical contributions to small development teams. Demonstrated ability to interact with customers and senior management. Excellent writing skills, as evidenced by a record of technical publications. Proven leadership ability/experience. Recognized as a technology expert in the target recognition or image processing field. Ability to obtain a DoD Secret clearance. 10+ years experience with a PhD.
Desired Skills:
Familiarity with systems engineering development process, experience in developing and testing implemented sensor processing systems, ability to mentor junior members of the team.
