Job Description


Responsibilities: The PMP Chairperson/Reliability Engineer will provide complete oversight for maintaining the Space APMPL (Approved Parts, Materials, Processes List) and aiding designers with parts selection, maintenance, revision, and control. The PMP Chairperson/Reliability Engineer will work under consultative direction of the Specialty Engineering IPT Lead toward predetermined long-range goals and objectives where assignments are often self-initiated and will determine and pursue courses of action necessary to meet customer requirements. The PMP Chairperson/Reliability Engineer will represent the RMSS Section as spokesperson on advanced projects and/or programs and as advisor to management and customers on Space EEE and mechanical parts issues and applications. The PMP Chairperson/Reliability Engineer should be proficient in the following disciplines and processes: Knowledge of Space component technology, qualification and testing; Working familiarization with capacitors, resistors, diodes, relays, magnetics, connectors, cables, wires, crystals, hybrids, MCMs, and mechanical hardware; Parts De-rating & Application; Reliability Block Diagrams & Systems Interfaces; Part Stress Analysis; Reliability Modeling & Prediction tool sets (Relex, Ascent, Prism, etc.); Design Assurance Analysis; Failure Diagnostics & Data/Trend Analysis; FMECA Analysis; Knowledge of Product Data Management (PDM) systems; Knowledge of Mil-Specs; and Space and Military environmental application requirements. This position will require application of most or all of these elements.

The ideal candidate will possess


Required Skills:
Computer literate and proficient in: Microsoft Office products (especially Excel); database design & implementation (SQL, Filemaker Pro, Access). Ability to generate complex internal and customer technical reports.


Desired Skills:
Good communication skills, both verbal and written.


Typical Experience: 8-10 years

Degree: B.S.
